About me
As a queer Syrian immigrant woman, I am keenly aware of how our identities shape how we are perceived and how we relate to the world around us. Thus, my passion is in working with LGBTQ+ individuals and people of color.
I am a Licensed Psychologist in Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Minnesota and see folks through telehealth, or at my office located in the Highlands in Louisville. I completed my postdoctoral training at the University of Minnesota’s Program in Human Sexuality where I gained a good deal of experience working with gender diverse adolescents and adults. I also worked with individuals with sexual concerns, such as low sexual desire and erectile dysfunction. Prior to that experience, I completed my PhD at the University of Louisville where I gained generalist training and experience working with individuals who have OCD, anxiety, depression, phobias, and other general mental health concerns.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and meant to empower my clients in setting and reaching goals that are values-based. I employ an integrative approach and draw from various therapeutic orientations, but at my core, I am an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy practitioner. With regard to OCD, I have extensive training in exposure and response prevention.
In my free time, I am a huge soccer fan and love spending time with my wife and our two cats.
